The first ever Ray-Ban frame was produced in 1929 for the US Air Force. A revolutionary lightweight, gold-coated Aviator with anti-glare G15 lenses.
In 1936 a plastic Aviator style was launched to the public and gained immediate popularity. The birth of a legend, in 1937 the Ray-Ban brand name was trademarked.
Ray-Ban's second best seller, The Wayfarer, was launched in 1952.
